Training kicks off for the 2017/2018 college year
UCC Karate Club is all set to go for a jam packed year of training, instructors courses, competitions, laughs, and general divilment.
Training at UCCKC kicks off on Tuesday September 19th in Hall 1 of the Mardyke Arena from 18:00 to 19:30.
For beginners, there will also be a six week dedicated beginners course beginning on September 19th, covering the simplest (and often overlooked) basic self defence techniques, blended in with the basics and fundamentals underpinning karate.
Coming up this year, we have loads of visits by senior instructors from a variety of Ireland’s and Europe’s karate community. We are thrilled to begin this year’s of instructor visits with a weekend seminar by Richard Amos Sensei! Added to this are referee courses, and a visit by Scott Middleton Sensei, and it’s turning out to be a fantastic year for UCC karateka to experience training with exceptional world-class talent. And that’s only the Autumn semester!!!
UCCKC are also delighted (and terrified) this year to be involved in co-hosting the WTKO national championships with our comrade WTKO Cork clubs on November 25th, along with two inter-varsity championships in the spring semester, including the All-Island Intervarsity Championships in March 2018.Check out our events page for the full listings.
‘Tis gonna be an awesome year folks, do pop over to our stand at UCC Clubs day and chat to the crew. 🙂
